The Faculty of Medicine is one of the four founding faculties of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. With its non-clinical facilities as well as its research and teaching area corresponding to the organisational units of the University Hospital, it is one of the largest medical training and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg.

The PhD candidate will be part of the Neurotechnology and Computational Psychiatry group at University of Tübingen (PI: Prof. Tobias Kaufmann) and supervised jointly with Prof. Peter Dayan, director of the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics. The position is part of the Else Kröner Medical Scientist College ‘Artificial intelligence for clinical brain research’ and targets computational advances in disease progression modelling. Specifically, the candidate will deploy novel machine learning models that combine large-scale datasets from biobanks with well-characterized clinical data sets, learning patterns in neuroimaging data that can be leveraged for clinical prediction.
