The Faculty of Medicine is one of the four founding faculties of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. With its non-clinical facilities as well as its research and teaching area corresponding to the organisational units of the University Hospital, it is one of the largest medical training and research institutions in Baden-Württemberg.

The Core Facility Genomics (head Dr. Nicolas Casadei) offers sequencing services for researchers of the University of Tübingen and from overall Germany. It is also one of four DFG NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) competence centers for high throughput sequencing in Germany, the “NGS competence center Tübingen, NCCT”. Besides offering sequencing service, we support research processes in several aspects: by knowledge transfer, by improving reproducibility of research results, and by offering highest reliability. The Core Facility Genomics is part of the Medical Faculty and located at two different sites: at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics and the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene.
