The Department I of the University Children’s Hospital Tübingen (Director: Prof. Dr. J. H. Schulte) aims to improve the prognosis of severe diseases in childhood and adolescence through translational research. The research group "Targeted Neuroblastoma Therapy" (PI Prof. J. H. Schulte), in which the advertised position is based, is dedicated to basic, translational, and clinical research into the causes and treatment of neuroblastoma, the most common extracranial tumor in childhood. The group's research areas include novel molecular targeted therapies and targeted immunotherapies, therapy resistance, tumor evolution, and clonal competition. To address these topics, the research group employs high-throughput methods (e.g., Schramm et al., Nature Genetics 2015; Koche et al., Nature Genetics 2020; Fuchs et al., Nature Communications 2023), cell biological techniques (e.g., Berlak et al., Molecular Cancer 2022), single-cell analysis (spatial single-cell RNA sequencing, MACSima, video microscopy), and animal models (e.g., Molenaar et al., Nature Genetics 2012). The research group is integrated into various consortia (e.g., SFB 1588).
